WARRENSBURG, MISSOURI (February 5, 2018) – Johnson County Community Health Services is pleased to announce the winners of its Food Safety Excellence Award for 2017.
Twenty three local food service establishments qualified for the award, including full-scale restaurants, fast-food establishments, school cafeterias, and nursing facilities.
The award recognizes food establishments that have demonstrated excellence in compliance with Johnson County Missouri Food Code and other public health standards during the calendar year of 2017.
Johnson County Community Health Services recognizes that excellence is best achieved when food service management fully endorses employee education and training. Therefore, the 2017 award goes to establishments that have exhibited excellence in sanitation and food safety, as well as employee education.
All local food establishments are inspected regularly by JCCHS, and must pass these inspections in order to remain open. Those receiving the excellence award, approximately 10 percent of the county’s 222 food establishments inspected in 2017, substantially exceeded the standards of the food code.
